Ummm...

So I am sure you all have thought that I fell off the earth or somethin but I did not..I'm still here and with some news!

Yay!! We are very excited and due November 15! I am convinced it's a boy but you never know! :)

Soooo...I have been thinking about continuing my weight loss blog because I have been diagnosed with early Gestational Diabetes. Normally you don't get tested till 25-30 weeks along but since I had a bad case of it with Shelby ( my first born ) the doc decided to have me tested early and sure enough I have it at its worse case again. I am not a stranger to controlling it so I wasn't as upset this time around, but one of my Dr.'s ( I have two ) is convinced I am just a diabetic no matter what and that i will continue to have it even after I am pregnant since my chances of having it all the time are increased big time with getting pregnant.

Sooooooooooo I have decided to keep this blog and just use it for my diabetes journey. After All it is still a weight loss regimen. I have lost 11 pounds so far in this pregnancy so it's all good! My goal..not to gain anything above my original starting weight. So far so good!

*Quick check in*

So I wanted to share the news of my weigh in after these 4 days. I lost a total of -3.6 pounds!!
Side note: I still need to lose about -1.4 pounds to get back to where i was a couple of weeks ago..grrrrr I hate back tracking!

Day 4 of Anti-bloat Jumpstart

So the one thing you learn when dieting is that when your home all day long is very easy to plan out your meals, but once you step out and go somewhere and don't know where the day will lead ya it's hard to get your 3 meals plus a snack in at just the right times. I learned that today. Well actually I new that along time ago, it was just different when on my 4 day cleans. So I got up and had my breakfast but not till almost noon. We were outside enjoying the snow one last time before it melted and well I was burning off some much needed calories by having a snowball fight with the fam. So anyway I lost track of time and well Breakfast came late but here is what I had......
1 cream of wheat packet
1 handful of raisins
1 cup of milk
Note to Self: not a big fan of cream of wheat!
So of course we were out and about and all of us starving so we went out to dinner with the in-laws, we went to a buffet so at least I had choices. So this was around 4-5:30ish so I made this my lunch and dinner...oh and I did have a string cheese earlier as a snack.
On lunch/Dinner menu:
About a 1/2 cup pot roast
Steamed carrots
sauteed green peppers & onions
a dab of mashed potatoes ( and i mean a dab!)
a half of corn on the cob
unsweet tea to drink

I did go for seconds but I just had more sauteed veggies and a small boneless rib and a roll & NO DESSERT!
So I am kinda bummed as to what i will see on the scale regarding this but I really didnt do to bad, my times were just off and while I should have had chicken there just wasn't any on the buffet that wasn't fried.

So tomorrow is the big day, I will weigh in and see how these 4 days have treated me...Ohh the suspense!!

Day 3 of Anti-bloat Jumpstart

So day 3 is upon us, if I had to state my current mood I would give a 4/5 which is ok. I feel great!
So today's breakfast...
1 cup if Corn flakes
1 cup of milk
2 tbs raisins
1/4 cup of sunflower seeds
( just between you and me, I will be glad not to eat sunflower seeds for quite a while )
For lunch, I mixed it around a bit, it wanted me to eat the pint of tomatoes again and there was just now way, so i heated up the left over green beans from the fridge, worked out just fine.
4 oz Deli chicken
1 cup green beans
1 low fat string cheese
And for dinner I mixed it up again, I had to have a 1/2 cup of noodles ( with a little olive oil ) because I forgot to cook the rice, I was trying to cook my dinner along with everyone else's.
6 oz Chicken breast
1/2 cup noodles
1 cup yellow squash sauteed( yummy!)

I forgo-ed the smoothie tonight because I just wasn't diggin it, after tomorrow I will start to use fresh fruit instead of frozen, that way i will get a bunch more flavor and it's natural sugars.
Now your probably wondering what i will do after the 4 day cleans, well now you can have a variety of stuff, the main goal is to keep each meal at 400 calories & your snack. So that is what I intend to do. So wish me luck! I will weigh in Tuesday morning to see what my results are for these past 4 days. :)

Mufa's

So I wanted to go over Mufa's since most of you are probably all like " huh?".." whatcha talkin about Willis?"
There are 5 categories to Myfa's........
1. Oils
2. Olives
3. Nuts & Seeds
4. Avocados
5. Dark Chocolate ( yes that is right..lol )
They say that Belly fat is the most dangerous fat of all. So in order to help lose that belly fat Mufa's are in order. ( FYI: These are the good fat's )
So when you see me having sunflower seeds in any one meal, that is my Mufa. Here is a short list of some of them.
Soybeans
Semi sweet chocolate chips
Almond butter
Cashew butter
Natural peanut butter
Pumpkin seeds
Canola oil
Flax seed oil
Peanuts
Almonds
Cashews
Avocado
Pistachios
Black olive
Green olive
Those are just to name a few....
They say you need to have one of these at least 2 of your meals, so far I have had them at Breakfast and snack. You can alternate or just pick one that you like, I mean I think I could handle a 1/4 cup of chocolate chips, twist my arm but I think I could!
So the bottom line is....eat the healthy fats and once you start incorporating at least 2 of these a day it will and hopefully just stick and it will just become habit.

Day 2 of Anti-bloat Jump start

Ok so day 2, not so bad. Menu was a bit different and I actually mixed a few things up just because a couple of things I do not like. So here goes!

Breakfast...

1 cup of Rice Krispies

1 cup of low fat milk

1/2 cup applesauce

1/4 cup sunflower seeds

Ok so breakfast to me is boring, I mean I have never been nor will be a big breakfast eater. Now if you have all the fixins ( and fattening ) well...then ok that sounds good and going out to breakfast have ever only been interesting to me, but those days will only be few and far between. I mean, I would rather skip the whole breakfast thing, but I know...that is a huge NO NO!

Lunch...

3 oz of Tuna

1 cup of steamed carrots

1 string cheese

So lunch was pretty yummy, The carrots were really good, I just boiled them with some olive oil and water and mmm, they were tasty! They say to eat cooked veggies rather then raw, it's easier on your GI tract. Just in case you want a little more info: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gastrointestinal_tract )

Now onto Dinner....

4 oz of Turkey ( I got a already seasoned Jenny-O turkey breast )

1 cup sateed mushrooms & onions

1/2 cup steamed brown rice

Tonight's dinner was actually very yummy, I enjoyed every bite. It was hard to get a delicious pictures since everything was basically the same color, but trust me it was all good.

Now for Snack...

(Another Smoothie)

Peach

1 cup of lowfat Milk

1 cup frozen peaches

If this looks good to you, well don't let it fool ya, it was a bug ole thumbs down! It was like eating frozen milk with a hint and a very small hint of peach flavor. I am not a fan of frozen fruit, for whatever reason when you freeze fruit the flavor pretty much disappears with it. I will certainly be switching over to fresh fruit for my smoothies after my 4 day cleanse.

ok so day 2 down..WOOT WOOT! Only 2 days to go, I have to admit I feel wonderful and I am not starving in between meals either. I still have the urge to snack but at least I am satisfied with the food I get.

Day 1 of 4 Anti-bloat Jumpstart

So I thought I would let you all in on my next 4 days, This is considered the Anti-Bloat jump start... kinda cleanser deal. You eat what they tell you to. So today was day 1 and here what was on the menu.

Breakfast...........

1 cup corn flakes
1 cup low fat milk
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/4 cup (mufa) sunflower seeds

Over all it was ok, I like cereal so that was yummy, and I like applesauce so it was all good. Definitely out of my norm cause i don't eat sunflower seeds all to often.

Now onto Lunch........

1 pint of cherry tomatoes

1 lowfat string cheese

4 oz of deli turkey

Now this meal was tricky for me, It actually wanted me to eat and entire pint of cherry tomatoes!! R they nuts?!? I got about a 1/4 of the way through them and i thought yuck! Then I wrapped them in my turkey with a bite of cheese and that got me about halfway through them. That is all I could physically do, my stomach actually wasn't liking it. Thanks goodness it's the only time I have to do that.

Dinner........

6oz of chicken

1 cup of steamed green beans

1/2 cup roasted red potatoes

Over all this meal was very good. I can handle this. It was very filling.

Last but not least....Snack

1/4 cup sunflower seeds ( mufa )

( which I saved until after dinner when my snack mode kicked in )

This was a blueberry smoothie, it was really good and very filling, I had a hard time drinking it all. If I had one complaint it would be that it needed a tad more sugar, but that is a big no no of course!

Soooooo...to sum up this day..I thought it went over very well. I loved having it wrote down for me so it took a lot of guess work out of it, now if only I had someone to prepare it for me..lol

I will explain a little on "mufa's" tomorrow. It's real simple and it's actually something to look forward to in a way. So stay tuned!

Staying Strong!

So I am sitting here close to tears because I think " What is my freakin problem!!?? Why can't this be easier and why can't I tell my brain to stop eating??!!"
Whew....my brain is actually screaming that. Let me give you an example: Tonight while I was waiting for Shelby to finish playing in her bath I decided to start munching. Well I didn't have a hungry bone in my body, not one. I actually felt kinda stuffed from dinner still. Why I thought I had to have some cheese crackers is beyond me...I mean why would I even consider eating when i am not hungry?? ........My plain and simple answer....I need to have stronger will power. right?..pretty simple huh? I ate cause I was bored.......well then do something to stop being bored....simple. I mean If i took each feeling I had when i wanted to eat and dissect it I bet you would find my answer would be the same, just a plain oh simple answer.
**********************
I want to tell you about this book I bought about a month ago. It looked familiar to me and i actually thought i already owned it but come to find out it wasn't one I already had in my diet book shelf. ( yeah I know..we all have em though...admit it!) I am pretty sure this is the diet my mom went on last year and lost 20+ pounds in a very short amount of time. I remember talking to her about every other day and and she would be like " Oh, I lost another 3 pounds....and oh! I lost another 2".... I was like " What?? How is that possible??" So when I came across this book I found out the reason it sounded familiar is because my mom told me about ages ago. ( right mom? correct me if i am wrong on this please. )
So anyway I am really excited about giving it a go. The basics to this diet is........
* 4 day Anti-bloat jump start
* 4 weeks of 3/day meals that consist of 400 calories per meal and a 400 calorie snack ( tons of recipes in this book)
* exercise optional ( but we all know it certainly helps..and they recommend it of course!)
That's it! Seems pretty simple huh? Of course there are a tons more info in this book, but I cant type it all out. I am going to give it a go and see what happens. I will keep you all posted on how it goes of course and if all goes well... :)

I have hit a wall ladies.........You see I would have failed ages ago but I kept with it because i had this little spark in me that was a fire, well now I feel just plain lazy about the whole dieting thing. You didnt think that every post on here was going to be "just the most perfect day ever!" did you?? Losing weight is such a battle and when you have just about everything going against you it's just a hard long road. I need to pick that dieting energy back up and quit having a pity party for myself. I want to Hoop-la again and be able to shout about weight loss. I need your support ladies please...please....please!!

Tomorrow is a new day and I am going to hop on board again. Wish me luck! :)

Day 33-35 Recap....

I know I know I have not been around at all last few days. Life just gets crazy I tell ya! I added a little craziness to it all by painting Shelby's room last two days. How many calories can you burn just painting? Well I will tell you........about ..........275 per hour! Not bad!

I have not done wonderful this week......I don't know what my problem is, well actually I sorta do... you see I made it farther than I have before but I am bored with dieting but it has to be done. I think When Tiffany and I start walking again it will give me that boost I need. Having a workout buddy helps so much!! So hopefully we can pick up next week again. Right Tiff??

So don't give up on me..please! Weigh in day is tomorrow, I will update on that soon. yikes!

Day 31 & 32 Recap..

So I didnt for get about ya all, I am having some issues with Google and that is what Blogger goes through, I am really hoping my computer isn't getting ready to do something funky again cause that would just be sad. So fingers crossed it gets better!

As for my diet days this past weekend, well it wasn't horrible but it wasn't great, Today ( Monday ) is all about getting back on track. If you look at my pattern here, you will see that weekends are my BIG cheat days, although I try not to make them so BIG but reasonable.

As for walking that has been put on hold with my gal pal Tiffany. She has the flu going through her household right now and last week, well.. if you read my past post you would have seen we have been busy busy. I am going to try and do some walking in our subdivision this week to catch up and between that and my elliptical it's all gooood!

So I am here, if i suddenly disappear you will know my computer went all wacky and I will be back!!

Day 28, 29 & 30 Recap.....

Ok, so Parties over....check!.......AF is over....check!.....Had my fun eating like there is no tomorrow....check!

So I have to recap 3 days here, I have been so busy can I even think back 3 days? I will try. So I have been running around getting ready for our HCPKP Valentine Party I hosted, It really is so much fun, but the food part.... well I tried to serve half and half but i mean come on, it's a Valentine's Part-ey! You have so have some sweets ya know. I guess the thing to keep in mind is the consumption of sweets you eat, so yeah, there is a whole plate of chocolate rice crispy treats or a plate full of chocolate but it doesn't mean you have to eat the whole plate!

The mind is a powerful thing of course, so how come when our stomachs are telling us to STOP! Our brain just ignores it? Does our brains have selective signals?...like selective hearing? :) Or maybe we choose to ignore that signal. Whatever it is It's something we need to teach ourselves for sure. It's a hard thing to learn but it is all part of the "changing your life" or aka.."diet" world.

Stay Tuned.....

Life is crazy busy at the moment, I will update soon!

Day 27 Recap....

I wanna say that I am doing so well, but I can't..shame on me! My dear AF came to visit me today and I have been craving anything my eyes even focus on. I am not going crazy eating but I am not doing my best. I did jump on the scale to see if I was gaining anything and I was the same, so that is good.

I want to be that awesome inspiration to all of you but as you know I am only human, I am still of course excited about changing my life but as we all know we have temporarily set backs. Temporarily being the key word there, means just an exit but right back on that hwy A.S.A.P!!

Love to you all girls! :)

Day 26 Recap...

So another day in diet land and guess where I had to go? A kid's birthday party, ya know where they have pizza...cake....soda....munchies?? Well it turns out if you sit in front of the veggie tray that is all you will eat!..lol Ok and one piece of pizza and a small slice of cake but I have a very good reason for doing that.......KIM & KATY made me do it!...They said..aww, it's just one piece. So I caved but I made that my dinner..so I really didnt do too bad. Oh and I have to throw in there that I had water. Whew!

I am feeling a little ick this morning, hoping its not the flu again. But I am gonna try to ignore it and see what happens.

On a lighter note i am trying to master this elliptical, it still kicking my buns! I have decided to do 2 mins worth a half our after I eat anything so, breakfast..2min....snack..2min...lunch..2min..snack..2min..dinner..2min...snack..2min. Then when I master 2 min i will got to 3min each time. Hey it's a start right?

Plus I will walk Tuesday with my girl Tiffany......( we better walk 4 miles Tiff, we have to overcome valentine parties..lol )

Tidbit for today....

So today was weight in day, I didn't want to wait and post tomorrow so I am doing so now. I have to give a big thanks to the flu for helping me out this week as I was down -2.4 pounds. Making my grand total..well...that purty number on your right. :)
*********************************************************
Now on to Lunch today, I mentioned this dish once before, it's 2 ingredients ........onion and already seasoned fajita beef. Just saute in a pan for about 5 min and it's so delish!
Onions do have quite a few carbs I think about 11 just in what I made here and the beef has 2 carbs. But still not bad. MUCH better than those pesky onion rings yesterday and filling!
